Fall

Oil on Linen, 24" x 24"

Within a framework of an allegory of the seasons, the four paintings Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter represent the cycle of life, and the Lucumí belief of learning about oneself and the world before transcending.

Part of Rosales’s allegory of the seasons series, Fall represents the time of harvest, when one gathers and reaps the crops of learning. During this period, the land—namely, children and younger generations—is prepared for future growth.
